How Do Other Countries Feel About Speed Cameras?

This photo gallery from the WarOnDriving Flickr account, shared courtesy of the CameraFRAUD National Facebook page, should sum it up pretty nicely.

Florida Red Light Cameras Scam Woman on Fixed Income

Nobody who’s paying attention is going to pretend the US economy is in good shape, nor has it been since 2007 (and arguably much longer than that).

Inflation on necessities has been a burden on many, but especially those on fixed incomes.

The last thing someone in that position needs to see is an extortion letter in the mail, or “traffic citation” as they’re called by the private companies who issue them.

In Green Cove, Florida a retiree was not only sent one of these scam tickets, but was charged extra just to fight it in court.

What a racket they have going out there in North Florida. From the news report below by First Coast News, it sounds like the cameras are on the way to even more communities.

Will the citizens of Green Cove say enough is enough?

Beaverton, OR braces for $400 right on red scam tickets

Beaverton is about to become a lot less friendly, and less safe to drive in for that matter. Redflex cameras, which usually cause erratic driving and increased collisions, will start ticketing drivers who turn right on red in that town.

Beaverton’s right on red fines will be worthy of Chicago or Los Angeles. They are reported to be in the neighborhood of $400.00. Of course, it’s all for safety, right?

Local news is already questioning the heavy fines which amount to extortion. The citizen backlash should begin shortly after the first round of tickets are mailed out.
